Under the authority of the Head of the Ship Safety Center, the Inspectors for Ship Safety and Prevention of Maritime Occupational Risks (ISNPRPM) are responsible in particular for the general supervision of:
- construction,
- ship safety conditions,
- maritime labor safety,
- ship pollution prevention.
In conjunction with the seafarers' doctors, they are responsible for monitoring habitability on board ships, and may call on the assistance of any person or organization they deem useful, particularly in the field of radio communications and navigational equipment using telecommunications technology.
ISNPRPMs are the privileged contacts for crews, shipowners, shipyard representatives and all maritime professionals who work on board ships.
The CSN Bordeaux together with its antennas in Arcachon and Bayonne has a diverse activity including Paris MoU PSC inspections in Bordeaux and Bayonne, flag state surveys and audits on merchant and passenger ships or flag state inspections on fishing vessels.
